Our Beliefs & Practices:
· We believe that the Bible is the only divinely inspired Word of God. Therefore we hold the Bible as the authority in all matters of faith and practice. Teaching the Bible is our priority.
· We believe that God exists eternally in three equal yet distinct persons as identified in the Bible: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we worship God the Father through Jesus Christ His Son in the power of the Holy Spirit.
· We believe that God created mankind in His image. Therefore, we consider all human life as a precious gift from God, and we oppose the contemporary philosophies of evolution and abortion.
· We believe that all human beings are fallen, totally depraved, physically dying, spiritually dead, and incapable of pleasing God on their own. Therefore, we do not believe that good works or church sacraments play any role in salvation.
· We believe in the virgin birth, deity, humanity, life, death, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, God the Son. Therefore, we believe that the death of Jesus Christ satisfied God’s demand for a perfect sacrificial substitution for the sin of mankind.
· We believe in salvation by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Therefore, we believe that individuals who accept Christ’s gift of salvation by faith are saved, while those who reject Christ’s gift of salvation are lost and eternally condemned.
· We believe that the Holy Spirit is active today by baptizing, sealing, and gifting the believer at the moment of salvation. Furthermore, we believe that the special sign gifts ceased with the completion of God’s Word. Therefore, we believe that every believer in Christ has been baptized into His church by the Holy Spirit and is eternally secure in their salvation.
· We believe the universal church is composed of all believers from Pentecost to the future event know as the rapture. We believe the local church consists of believers from a specific area who agree to meet at set times for the purposes of worship, instruction, fellowship, and evangelism, and observance of the two Biblical ordinances of baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. Therefore, as a local, Bible-believing church, we will meet weekly for these purposes.
· We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulation, physical removal of the church from the world in an event called the rapture. Therefore we live with the expectation that Christ can return at any moment.
· We believe the rapture will be followed by a seven year period of intense suffering on earth referred to as the Tribulation. We believe that this is a period of time when God will deal specifically with Israel. Therefore, we do believe in a distinction between the church and Israel, and are committed to praying for Israel’s peace.
· We believe in the bodily, visible, pre-millennial, return of our Lord Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom on earth. At the end of this kingdom, we believe in the physical resurrection and judgment of all human beings. The saved will be eternally with God, the lost will suffer eternal punishment in hell.
· We believe in the existence of angelic beings, both holy and fallen.
What We Are Not:
· We are not an “emergent” church.
· We are not a Pentecostal church.
· We are not a political church.
