Dorcas Society
The Dorcas group is Calvary's ladies mission society. Much of the younger generation do not understand the meaning behind this group's name and Pastor Bryan has regrettably referred to the ladies as dorks when announcing their upcoming meetings. In the Bible, the name Dorcas appears which is the Greek name for Tabitha. Tabitha was a lady who took care of the poor and widows who lived in the town of Lydda. Acts 9:36b describes Tabitha as "always doing good and helping the poor." The ladies mission society's goal is to portray the actions of Tabitha throughout our church family and missionaries.

This group of ladies typically meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM. Some of their projects include making quilts for new mothers, cooking soup for those not able to make it church, collecting junk food and other necessities for college students, and making Christmas presents for the Awana students. This social event is open to all ladies of Calvary, so join us at our next meeting for a great time of fellowship and encouragement.

L.A.C.E.
The acronym LACE stand for Ladies After Christ Example. LACE was started as a separate group but for the past few years has been merged with the Dorcas society. LACE meets with Dorcas and both of these groups are typically referred to as the "Dorcas/LACE Society".
