The Scriptures

We believe the Old and New Testaments to be verbally inspired by God; inerrant in the original manuscripts, and the supreme and final authority in the faith and life. We believe that the scriptures are complete and include only the following books: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, I Samuel, II Samuel, I Kings, II Kings, I Chronicles, II Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, I Corinthians, II Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I Thessalonians, II Thessalonians, I Timothy, II Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, I Peter, II Peter, I John, II John, III John, Jude, Revelation. We further believe that there is no new revelation by God during the present dispensation. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21; Revelation 22:18,19)

God

We believe there is one God - Holy, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (II Corinthians 13:14; Luke 3:21,22; Deuteronomy 6:4)

Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit and was born of Mary, who was a virgin, and that He is complete humanity and undiminished deity in one Person forever. He is the only sufficient Mediator between God and men. We believe in the vicarious death of the Lord Jesus Christ for our sins, in the resurrection of His body, and his ascension into Heaven. (Jn. 1:14; Is. 7:14; Matt. 1:16; Phil. 2:5-8; Jn. 20; I Cor.15)

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit to be God, possessing personality and deity, and to be active in creation, salvation, and sanctification. (John 16:8-11; I Corinthians 3:16; Acts 5:1-4; John 16; Acts 1:8)

Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God, and that he sinned and thereby incurred spiritual death imparting to him a sinful nature. We believe that unsaved man must bear the responsibility for his lostness and condemnation. (Ephesians 2:1-10; John 5:24; Romans 3:9-20; Genesis 1:26,27)

Salvation

A. We believe that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ (Romans 5:9; 4:5; Galatians 2:16). We believe that the saved are the elect of God, chosen in Christ Jesus before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4; I Peter 5:13; Romans 8:29). In a mystery beyond our comprehension, God's sovereignty does not violate man's freedom or responsibility so that all are genuinely invited to believe and be saved. (John 3:16; John 5:40; Revelation 22: 17).


B. We believe in the eternal security of the believer (John 10:27-30; Romans 8:28,30,38,39; I John 5:13).


  1. Our salvation is based upon God's character and works.
  2. He loves to the uttermost (John 13:1).
  3. He plans to keep us in spite of everything (John 10:28-30).
  4. He plans to present us faultless before Himself (Jude 24).
  5. Christ makes intercession for us (Hebrews 7:25).
  6. The Spirit seals us until the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30).
  7. God's Word promises nothing will be able to separate us from Christ (Romans 8:38-39).

The Church

A. We believe that a New Testament Church is an organized body of baptized believers - independent and self-governing, practicing Scriptural ordinances and actively engaged in fulfilling the Great Commission, and that on all matters of membership, policy, of government, of discipline, the will of the local Church is final. (Acts 2:41; 1:8; 9:20; 11:22; 6:1-6).


B. We believe that biblical baptism is the single immersion of a believer in water to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem our identification with the crucified, buried and risen Savior, through whom we died to sin and rose to a new life. We believe that baptism is to be performed under the authority of a New Testament Church; and that it is a pre-requisite to the privileges of church membership. We believe that the Lord's Supper is for believers and is the commemoration of His death until He comes. It should be preceded always by solemn self-examination. (Acts 8:36, 38, 39; John 3:23; Romans 6:3-5; Matthew 3:16; Colossians 2:12; I Corinthians 11:23-28; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41,42).

Satan & Demons

A. We believe that Satan is a spiritual being. He is real (2 Cor. 11:3; Rev. 12:17; 2 Tim. 2:26). He is a fallen angel. (Is. 14; Ezek. 28).



B. We believe that:

  1. Demons are fallen angels (Matt. 12:24; Eph. 6:11-12)
  2. They can inflict diseases (Matt. 9:33)
  3. They can dwell within humans or animals (Mark 4:24; 5:13)
  4. They can only dwell within an unbeliever (Matt. 4:24, 12:22, Mk. 5:15-18; Lk. 8:36; Jn. 10:21)
  5. They can influence a believer but not dwell within him (I Cor. 5:5; I Jn. 5:18-19 - in verse 18 [NIV] the word harm means to hold onto. The example of Job could also be cited.)

The Government

We believe all persons should be subject to the government under which they dwell, so as not to contradict scripture. Christians should be committed to praying for their leaders and rulers. (Romans 13:1-6; Titus 3:1,2; I Timothy 2:1-3)


As previously stated (The Scriptures), the Bible is our ultimate authority.

The Nation of Israel

We believe in the sovereign selection of Israel as God's eternal covenant people, that she is now dispersed because of her disobedience and rejection of Christ, and that she is being re-gathered in the Holy Land and, after the completion of the Church, will be dealt with as a nation. (Genesis 13:14-17; Romans 11:1-32; Ezekiel 37)

Spiritual Gifts

A. God has bestowed one or more of these abilities or gifts on every believer. They are listed in Romans 12:6-8.


B. There are also manifestations of the Spirit. These are recorded in I Corinthians 12:8-10 and are as follows:


  1. Discerning of spirits.
  2. Tongues.
  3. Interpretation of tongues.
  4. Healing.
  5. Miracles.
  6. Giving of Revelation.


The manifestations of the Spirit were "sign gifts" for the purpose of evangelism and testimony and have ceased. (Acts 8:14-17; I Corinthians 13:10; II Corinthians 12:12)

Biblical Marriage

We believe that God has commanded the institution of Biblical marriage to the union of one biological man and one biological woman for life, and that any sexual activity should take place only within that marriage. (Genesis 2:24; Leviticus 18; Romans 1:26-29, 7:2; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Ephesians 5:22-23; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8;

Hebrews 13:4)

Eschatology

A. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (I Corinthians 15; John 5:28,29)


B. We believe in the premillennial return of Christ, an event which can occur at any moment. At that moment the dead in Christ shall be given glorified bodies, and the living in Christ shall be given glorified bodies without dying, and all shall be caught up (raptured) to meet the Lord in the air before the seven years of Tribulation. We believe that this tribulation will be culminated by the revelation of Christ in power and great glory to sit upon the throne of David and to establish the 1000-year kingdom. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Corinthians 15:42-44, 51-54; Philippians 3:20-21; Revelation 3:10; Daniel 9:25-27; Matthew 24:29-31; Luke 1:30-33; Isaiah 9:6,7; 11:1-9; Acts 2:29-30; Revelation 20:1-4, 6)


C. We believe that Hell is a place of literal, eternal, conscious punishment in fire and torments of all the unsaved. (Matt. 13:40-42; Mark 9:43-48; Lk. 16:19-31)
