Meet the people behind our church


Pastor Mike Dellaperute

Lead Pastor

Pastor Mike and his wife Michelle are both lifelong residents of Ocean County, NJ. They were married in 1992 and have four sons. Mike accepted the call to youth pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in 2001 and lead pastor in 2009.

    He holds several academic degrees including an AS from OCC, and a Bachelor’s in Bible and MDIV from Cairn University. Presently he is a PhD candidate in Systematic Theology at Baptist Bible Seminary of Clarks Summit University.


    Mike loves to teach the Word of God, and his life verse is Colossians 1:10. Along with his ministry at Calvary, Mike also coaches men’s varsity soccer at the Pilgrim Academy; serves as an adjunct theology professor for both Shasta Bible College and Seminary and Cairn University; is a member of the editorial advisory committee for the Journal of Ministry and Theology; has authored the book, “The Danger of Puberty Suppression,” (Please click here for more info); and his radio program “A Voice of Reason” can be heard Monday nights at 7 PM on WYRS 90.7 FM.


    Mike is an avid runner, reader, and writer who enjoys playing and coaching soccer, collecting sea glass, and kayaking in the ocean whenever possible.

Pastor Kevin Keltner

Pastor of Youth & Calvary Groups

 Pastor Kevin moved from Lancaster, PA to begin working at Calvary in 2017. He graduated from Lancaster Bible College in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Bible and Student Ministries.

    He and Becka have been married since 2012. They have a son and three daughters; Hollis, Finley, Rowan, and Mikenna.


    Kevin's father is a pastor and has been in ministry many years. This contributed to a love for ministry and serving in the church. He and his 3 brothers had a family landscaping business which they worked through high school and college.


    Kevin loves basketball, soccer, the Green Bay Packers, hiking, woodworking, and going to the beach. His life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, and his favorite Bible character is Moses because he led God's people in spite of his flaws and insecurities.

Pastor Dave Hewitt

Pastor of Worship & Children

Pastor Dave started attending Awana and Sunday School at Calvary Baptist Church when he was in third grade. When he was a teenager, his passion for God's Word and ministry was fueled by serving in VBS, Awana, Choir, and going on youth mission trips.

    Dave graduated from Cedarville University with a B.A. in Pastoral Studies in 2000 and from Cairn University with an M.S. in Bible in 2004. He taught at Tuckerton Elementary School from 2001-2021 and has worked "part-time" for Calvary since 2013. He joined the staff at Calvary full-time in the fall of 2021.


    Dave and his wife, LeeAnn, have four daughters: Olivia, Alexandra, Emily, and Ivy and live in Tuckerton. Dave enjoys reading, watching super hero movies, cheering for the Phillies, going to the beach, and spending time with his family at the Ocean City boardwalk. His life verse is I Samuel 12:24, and one of his favorite Bible people is Esther because she stood for God and her people at the right time.

Pastor Russell Smith

Executive Pastor

Pastor Russ was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1987 and holds a B.S. in Bible from Clarks Summit University and a Master of Ministry from Baptist Bible Seminary.

    He is married to Andrea. Together they have three grown children: Zachary (Stephanie and granddaughter Quinn), Ethan, and Gabe (Grace).


    Russ enjoys coffee dates with Andrea, time spent with family, and home improvement projects. Philippians 1:6 is a constant source of encouragement to him and Barnabas, a joy-filled, Spirit-led, faithful man stands out as one who made it his mission to encourage others in their walk with God.

Carol

Office Staff

Carol spent her first 25 years in Valley Forge, PA, the next 25 years in Walpole, MA where she was a church secretary until coming to Little Egg Harbor, NJ in 1990 to care for her parents. 


She started working full-time in the church office at Calvary in 1993. She feels blessed to have this job and loves the people here at Calvary. Carol has one daughter living in Massachusetts.
